The musicians Markus Gsell and Rudi Mahall are a rather unusual duo. The woodwind musicians play bass and contrabass clarinets, Bb clarinet, soprano and sopranino saxophone. Their music is freely improvised and sounds like Jazz.Playing as a duo has a special meaning for the two, less is more. Making the spectrum of each instrument audible to be experienced to its utmost is their goal. Regardless of which instrument is being played the musicians are free of being either a soloist or accompanist. They are both or even better neither.
