Only one year after the release of debut "Conduction Sessions"- a collection of directed improvisations - the Swiss "Fischermanns Orchestra" is to present their follow-up album "Wildfang" on Unit Records, proving once more this street jazz ensemble's versatile and eclectic approach to composing. From opener "Yere Ma Soro", a smooth and placid balafon feature embracing the sounds and rhythms of West African music, to the stomping "Fliessband"- German for "assembly line" - to the infectious and vibrating, latin driven piece "Sabrosura", the young and hungry souls of the Fischermanns Orchestra leave no doubt they are to be ranked as one of Europe's most exciting and thrilling large ensembles.
