In the Art of Fresco Painting - Pictures of Noexhibition UNIT Records, the label owned by musicians, regularly provides unknown artists with the possibility of attracting greater attention. Pianist and composer Felix Huber's first solo album is a true marble as far as new piano music is concerned. With his nimble and playful ideas he creates moods with depth. Says Huber: In the art of fresco painting, al fresco (al fresco = fresh) describes the process of applying paint on fresh plaster in order to combine the pigments with the lime. This process describes a mood that has accompanied me all along the recording sessions for this album. This way of spontaneously playing while the time passed, or all the better when the time stood still, led to many of those musical paintings. They cannot be seen from the outside but can be felt from the inside. That's the reason for the title: "Bilder keiner Ausstellung" which means as much as "Pictures at noexhibition". Al fresco is also a documentation of a couple of piano sounds that are new to me, specially those of the tunes 1, 12 and 21. Their sound reminds me of something between the violoncello and the didgeridoo and can not just be extended to my liking but just as well dynamically varied over and over again. All of the tunes got their titles after the music was created and therefore can be associated with it.
