“[...] With the title Fleurs d’X, I wanted to collect a series of short (and very short) pieces for solo guitar, written during the summers from 2007 to 2012. This corpus of musical scraps, today collected into three notebooks, registers sudden deja vus, elaborates intuitions grabbed in fortuitous moments, returns echoes of a musical memory, always in balance between enchant and dream, fracture and distance. I refined these scraps into musical aphorisms. A light music with an emblematic form and a concise gesture, complying with a simple writing and accessible to the younger guitarists. It‚s a simple music, not nearly easy, a music moved by far intuitions and no intention, overflowing with the ‘nostalgia for those things which never had a beginning’. I couldn‚t do anything else but giving custody of this work to the beloved and melancholic guitar, instrument of an ancestral symbology, indifferent towards History epiphanies.” (Fabio Selvafiorita)
