As I am myself a composer as well as a pianist I was immediately drawn to the boldly unique original music of Ewald Huegle. While each piece is incredibly challenging both technically, formally and harmonically, Ewald`s music contains an elegant beauty and precise logic of form and content that presents the performer with a myriad of possibilities and roads as entry into each individual piece of music. His compositions unfold like brilliant puzzles that the performer is requested to solve in his/her own individual manner. I have found great pleasure and freedom in performing this music and am happy and proud to be a part of this document of Ewald`s work.
