This is already a second album featuring works dedicated to the Cracow Duo by six outstanding contemporary composers. The music included on the album is a collection of several years of experiences and reflection of composers and artists, a record of their reactions to reality. The sources of inspiration cover both the creators’ personal emotional states and historical events or the philosophy of the Far East. The pieces included on this album were premiered by the ensemble at concerts in Europe and the USA in 2011–2022. Above all, however, these works provide the listener with an opportunity to experience the extraordinary beauty of the sound of the cello and piano, in their full scale and richness of tone. Jan Kalinowski and Marek Szlezer give here a display of virtuosity and musical understanding, using a wide range of emotions – from meditative focus to unbridled passion.
