Compulsion is the driving force that unites the five members of this music project: Compulsion is an expression of their inner need embrace and share their passion for music. With sensitivity, experience and harmony, these five musicians perform modern jazz standards with style and skill. In their repertoire are pieces by Woody Shaw, John Coltrane, Freddie Hubbard, but also their own compositions in new arrangements and interpretations. Different stylistic influences and rhythms are skilfully integrated to create unique sound images. Even the combination of only violin and trumpet in Frontline gives rise to a distinctive band sound. After performing together over a period of many years in various ensembles, the five musicians of Compulsion are perfectly attuned to each other.
