 Sous la direction inspirée de Tomasz Kotwica, le chœur The Hoor, offre une interprétation envoûtante de treize chants de Noël, mêlant tradition polonaise – les fameux koledy – et répertoire international. Noël ne serait pas vraiment Noël en Pologne sans ces chants typiques ! Cet ensemble nous révèle ici toute sa maîtrise vocale, avec des arrangements subtils a capella de ces chants qui révèlent la richesse harmonique de mélodies familières aux polonais. La justesse des voix et leur équilibre parfait soulignent la sophistication de ces arrangements, tout en préservant la simplicité émouvante des chants. L’album, enregistré dans l’acoustique généreuse de l’église Saint-Jacques de Wagrowiec, s’enrichit de trois improvisations à l’orgue et de quatre chorals luthériens arrangés par J.S. Bach qui ajoutent une profondeur historique à l’ensemble. Le chœur The Hoor, lauréat de concours et ambassadeur culturel, prouve ici sa maîtrise d’un répertoire exigeant. N’oublions pas la virtuosité des organistes sur les pièces accompagnées ! (Mathieu Niezgoda) Music for Christmas. The album features Polish and foreign Christmas carols, very old and relatively new, known to everyone and somewhat forgotten. Thirteen of them, arranged by well-known composers, are performed by an excellent choir from Wagrowiec, The Hoor – an ensemble appreciated at international competitions and festivals, presenting vocal, vocal and instrumental and popular music repertoire. Three Christmas carols were recorded in an instrumental version, as organ improvisations. The whole is complemented by four early Lutheran hymns from the 16th and 17th centuries arranged as organ chorales by Johann Sebastian Bach. The intimate sound of the choir with perfectly balanced proportions of voices allows you to appreciate the harmonic invention of the authors of each of the arrangements and to once again admire the well-known, simple melodies, but in a sophisticated version. On the album, you can also hear excellent instruments that show the full potential of colours and power under the fingers of organ virtuosos.
