"Metisse", the french word for mix, is the name of the new album of the german-french ensemble Cecile Verny Quartett. “Metisse“ includes also an interesting mix of different music. The 11 tracks represent many different styles, moods, languages and stories. Uptempo tracks, Ballads, Blues, Latin and Afro Sounds, an enormous spectrum which the Musicians combine in their unique ,new and original language of sound. Since their last very succesful and popular Album “Got a Ticket”(Double Moon 1002),the Quartett has growed up. Here are not playing four Soloists but Four Voices are performing an perfect construction. The” Metisse “ begins with a blues “What if” from pianist Andreas Erchinger ,who is responsible for the half of the songs. One Samuel Taylor Coleridges' story (1722-1834) is interpretated in a dynamic tempo in english and french. The text for “Cradle Song” was written by William Blake (1757-1827), which is one of the highlights in this Album. The title's song “Metisse” belongs to the genuine theme in this CD. Cecile Verny was born at Elfenbeinküste. Later she was living in france for a long period. Than she moved to southern Germany. She grew up with music and is able to perform pop, classic, musical and of course jazz. Andreas Erchinger play the piano. He is influenced fomr hardbop and modern jazz. Bass player Bernd Heitzler performed as a sideman with a lot of ensembles in the styles jazz, pop, rock, world music, latin, and Salsa. Matthias Daneck (dr) is popular also outside of Europe. He worked together e.g. with Randy Brecker and Arturo Sandoval. You can hear a lot of own compositions on this record. Beside this George Moustaki’s ("Il est trop tard", his Reaction: "Many thanks for this wonderfull present") and Cole Porter’s ("I've Got You Under My Skin") in an very spezial interpetation. A new Studio, an new sound-ingeneer - "Metisse" is a perfect sounding album in 20-Bit-quality.
