Bertrand Blessing has always been fascinated by Henry Threagill's compositions (saxophonist, composer / USA) because of their constructions, their "random" harmonies and their polyrhythms. He was captivated by the sincerity of his discourse and gave birth to a new project, which appeared to be ambivalent because of its rigorous aspects about writing's stylistic but also constantly offering free spaces to its performers. He imposed to himself as a course of conduct some nocturnal walks through different parts of the city of Geneva to record the first impressions and ideas he had there. He then built each composition by giving greater place to melodious frictions in regard to the bass and he deliberately neglected any harmonic construction. Each composition's title corresponds to its original municipality (Le lignon, Petit-Lancy, etc.). The project was born as a 5tet.
