" Happiness Is Overrated" can actually be taken literally when you hear how the recent winners of  the " New German Jazz Award " deal with the expressive and sad and beautiful originals written by the bandleader . The musicians transform melancholy into pure power , sadness into playful vibrancy .   The drummer and ECHO Jazz winner Bastian Juette had the line-up of the quartet already in his mind before he has asked the alto saxophonist and professor Florian Truebsach , the outstanding pianist Rainer Boehm and the ECHO Jazz winner Henning Sieverts on double bass and cello for the band. So the perfect harmony of the Quartet is not surprising , especially since all four know and appreciate each other for 20 years now . As an additional highlight the wonderful singer Fola Dada brings the " Shadowman " to life with her extremely versatile voice and her sensitive singing.
