Amir, born in Freiburg in 1975 (as child of a Palestinian father and Columbian mother), already learned to play the Arabian lute from his father when he was a child. He discovered the world of flamenco when he was a youth, and the teenager was soon discovered by the great master guitarist Pepe Justicia, who took him to Jerez to study with him. Today, Pepe and Amir can often be found together as a duo on the stage. In addition, Amir also studied with the equally famous Enrique de Melchor in Cordoba. The extraordinary talents of Amir were soon discovered by famous dancers (Joaquin Ruiz, Eliseo Parra, Tomasito, etc.) and musicians (Gerardo Nuñez, José Luis Montón, Raimundo Amador and others) on the Iberian peninsula. He has worked on stage or in studios with all of them. His international career began in the group known worldwide "Radio Tarifa", with whom he recorded their last CD ("Fiebre") and has toured numerous times. Now he decided that the time was ripe for a first project of his own... Amir Haddad has lived and worked in Madrid for more than 10 years. He found his own language of music through experiences in the fusion of Arabian music with flamenco, which he has gained through playing guitar, buzuki, sass, lute, electric guitar, baglama etc. "Pasando Per Tabernas" displays a maturity of music, which you would not expect from such a young musician. Such harmonious compositions are something you do not hear every day. Guitar and percussion (Pablo Martin), nothing more and nothing less, and it’s good like that. Amir and Pablo play their music exactly as it should be, and feeling and technique are synchronized perfectly. All the pieces are original compositions and arrangements with fascinating rhythms and smooth-flowing solos. A few pieces are even so catchy that you won’t be able to get them out of your head. Amir plays as if he already knew his instrument half a century. Everything sounds so wonderfully natural and unforced: a master already in his young years!
