Adam Wesolowski is a composer, conductor and pianist whose works are performed by many prestigious ensembles around the world, at the most famous festivals. The album includes his compositions inspired by angelic or celestial themes. Their structure is full of symbols – intervals, scales and compositional techniques are not used accidentally, and the elaborate analysis contained in the booklet introduces the listener into the details. As far as the sonic layer is concerned, angelic compositions are an example of grand symphonic works, definitely tonal, whose momentum and orchestration remind us of film music. One of the evident strengths of the album is the participation of two outstanding flautists in the solo parts of the double concerto – Agata Kielar-Dlugosz and Lukasz Dlugosz. The Silesian Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Yaroslav Shemet once again proves that they are an excellent ensemble; in one of the pieces, they also present their vocal abilities.
