Accento Austria is the title of this exciting and diversified compilation of original works from 19th and 20th century Austria by Austrian flutist Elisabeth Möst and Dubrovnik-born guitarist Maroje Brcic. The compositions for flute and guitar by Mauro Giuliani like the Grand Duo concertant, Op. 85 are among the principal classic works of their kind. Similar to Giuliani, Leonhard von Call (Serenade in D major, Op. 19), a composer from South Tyrol who has remained widely unknown, and the Czech Jan Truhlar (Sonata semplice Op. 18) were accomplished guitar players themselves. In addition to playful and dance-like elements there can be found subtle influences of the “New Music” of the 20th century in the works of Cesar Bresgen (Five Miniatures) and Alfred Uhl (Scherzo Capriccioso from Three Pieces)..
