Of course there is reason for comparisons between the two of the most important lady opera and concert singers in Sweden. But it is more interesting to see the similarities. Siv Wennberg and Laila Palme were active in nearly the same repertoire. Laila Palmes voice may have been slightly more innocent sounding and thinner as is obvious in the beginning traditional Swedish song. What a joy to hear this lovely voice also in pianissimos but make no mistake, listen to her Queen of Night, all the virtuoso is there!
