In Poland, for over two decades, there has been a growing need to reinterpret the peasant inheritance (and the layer in general), with its peak falling now. It is hard to unanimously classify the folklore works of Zygmunt Krauze of the 1970s to the intentional, ideological sign of these value revisions, yet it certainly became a strong antithesis of the patronising “sanding,” which reached its deepest point a quarter of century earlier. Krauze combines an unconventional approach with “immersion” (to use the word of the composer) in the sound environment, which results in an original and fresh work, a separate one at the Polish background of its times.
