This Russian tenor saxophonist and her two Swiss band members have strong roots in straight ahead jazz, but they deliver an enormous variety of compositions covering a wide range of styles up to and focusing on contemporary jazz. Victoria, Thomas and Pius met for the first time at Langnau Jazz Nights 2013 in Switzerland, after which they took the decision to form a lasting trio project and set their objectives to create a body of work which combines high complexity, catchy melodies and powerful grooves. The trio's repertoire mainly consists of own compositions and arrangements. The central idea of this album is Freedom. Freedom of the soul in "Anahata", love's freedom in "My Ballad" and the incredible variety of freedom expressed in the two-piece "Freedom To Be You" suite. This theme inspired further compositions, which complete the works on this young saxophone player's debut album.
