Pupil of Vincenzo Lavigna (also teacher of Verdi) and of Stanislao Mattei, Ruggero Manna is a multi-faceted and charming composer. Author of Operas (gendre that he never loved), he also wrote many works for singing and piano, and piano with other instruments (violin, cello, fl ute) and soloists, choir and orchestra. Large and to be rediscovered is his sacred production, partially included in our CD. In Manna converges the Neapolitan school, the counterpoint, the Viennese stylistic resonances and the musical infl uences of the Italian melodramma. " es CD off ers the opportunity to rediscover an extraordinary composer, with a virtuoso writing that is never banal nor an end in itself.
