Pergolesi Stabat Mater Arrangements Pour Piano Scarlatti Sonates Pour Piano Hinrichs

La pianiste allemande Marie-Luise Hinrichs s'est fait connaître grâce à deux disques consacrés aux trop rares Sonates de Martin Soler. Remontant dans la chronologie, elle choisit aujourd'hui quelques Sonates de Scarlatti qui bénéficient des mêmes qualités : le soin apporté aux nuances, un jeu bien au fond du clavier qui prend le temps de chanter et s'éloigne des pures exhibitions virtuoses. Mais la pièce de résistance de cet enregistrement est une transcription pour piano seul (signée par la Hinrichs) du célèbre Stabat Mater de Pergolèse. L'œuvre s'ouvre par une plainte émouvante où les deux sopranos enchaînent les dissonances comme des pleurs irrépressibles. De ce tableau baroque prétexte à peindre les larmes d'une mère ne reste dans la version pour piano qu'un dessin, une épure. Elle garde de la version originale les lignes vocales et l'harmonie en laissant de côté non seulement les figures d'accompagnement aux cordes mais également la violence du texte original. On y goûte l'intelligence de l'usage des ornements ainsi qu'une une impressionnante fugue (Fac ut ardeat cor meum). La pianiste met à jour des parentés avec Scarlatti (parties lentes et mélodiques : mouvements 3 et 5) ou Vivaldi (Largo mouvement 12). Une entreprise originale, mais qui garde à distance la douleur de la partition originale. (Thomas Herreng)

Marie-Luise Hinrichs created a great national and international sensation in the music world with her own piano arrangements of compositions by the medieval saint Hildegard von Bingen, to which she lent new pianistic touches. She now has prepared a piano version of Pergolesi’s world-famous Stabat mater. The pianist herself writes: »Pergolesi’s Stabat mater fascinated me from the very beginning. The music is so deeply moving that I made it a top priority to play it on the piano and to rewrite the music for this instrument. While I was rewriting the Stabat mater, I experienced phases of great enthusiasm for this work and even days during which I could not continue to write because its profound sadness had overwhelmed me. However, it also has a marvelous turn, when at the end it speaks of the glory of paradise and the protection offered by the cross and along with it the grace of Christ.« A gripping and profound performance with the hallmarks typifying Marie-Luise Hinrichs and her luminous, most finely nuanced and warm piano sound.
