This autumn Gerhard Rühm, the inventor and most important representative of what is known as experimental poetry and an artist who traverses boundaries between different genres, is not only devoted an impressive show of his work in the Bank Austria Kunstforum, but also this box set consisting of three CDs of spoken texts, melodramas and chansons never previously published as sound documents. In the 1950s his keen observation and, above all, his revolutionary way of rendering experiences provoked society, which initially ostracized him but eventually learned to appreciate the pioneering direction of his work and awarded him recognition that makes him one of the most important contemporary men of letters. Those who know and love his work will be delighted to hear again "Rühms Tierleben" and equally "Frauenliebe und -leben", "Der längste Kuss" or his interpretation of the woman with the somewhat strange "Sitzfleisch".
