The discography of Don Pasquale is not small but also not even so large. This version of 1952, realized in Turin by Cetra, remains one of the classics of reference of this work. In order of time, it came after the famous 78 rpm recording by HMV and dominated by the figure of the tenor Tito Schipa. It uses an Italian voice cast, with the foremost artists of the mid-twentieth century comic repertoire Italian. It still remains a miracle of acting, accurate accent, singing fluid, compelling drama, absolutely superior to almost all the recordings made in the following years.
